EXTENDED AREA SERVICE (EAS)
EAS is available for either flat rate or measured rate to the following exchanges: Alpine, Bellfountain, Eugene-Springfield, and Junction City. To place calls within the EAS area dial the number as given in the directory.

VOICE MAIL SERVICE
This is an answering service allowing you the function of an answering machine with fixed information messages to the calling party or message recording from the calling party.

Voice-Mail can be set to answer your telephone in the following circumstances:
1. Busy Line Forward to Voice-Mail.
If you are on a call the calling person will not hear a busy signal, they will automatically go to your voice-mail.
2. No Answer Forward to Voice-Mail.
Callers will automatically go to your voice-mail if you do not answer the phone within the number of rings that you choose.

When there is a message on your voice-mail box you will hear a stutter dial-tone when you lift the handset.

To listen to your messages from any touch tone telephone:
From your home:
1. Dial 541-847-8800.
2. Wait for your pre-recorded message to begin.
3. Dial * and your PIN number.
4. Follow the voice prompts to retrieve your messages.

When away from home:
1. Dial you home telephone number.
2. Wait for your pre-recorded message to begin.
3. Dial * and your PIN nmber.
4. Follow the voice prompts to retieve your messages.

CALLING NUMBER IDENTIFICATION (Caller ID)
This feature allows you to see the telephone number of the calling party. You must subscribe to this service and purchase your own display screen, which will show the telephone number of the party calling you. For information about blocking your number from being displayed to people you are calling please see below or contact our Business Office. Your display equipment must be compliant with ANSI equipment standards to receive this information.

CALLING NAME DELINERY (With Caller ID)
This feature, when added to Caller ID, allows you to see the name and telephone number of the person calling you. Your display equipment must be compliant with ANSI equipment standards to receive this information.

CALLING NUMBER DELIVERY BLOCK
You may block your telephone number from being displayed to people that you call.
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Press *67 (on a rotary dial 1167) before each call.
3. Dial the desired telephone number.


AUTOMATIC CALLBACK
To redial a busy telephone number without dialing the whole number again.
1. Lift you handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Press *66, and follow the voice instructions.
3. When the line is no longer busy your telephone will ring.
4. When you pick up your receiver the number you are trying to reach will begin to ring.
NOTE: This feature will keep retrying the busy line for 30 minutes.

PER CALL BLOCKING
Allows your name and number to display to other Caller ID customers for that one call.
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Press *82 before you dial the number to remove blocking on that one call.


AUTOMATIC REDIAL
Automatic Redial will immediately recall the last number you dialed.
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Press *66 to recall the last number you called.


CALL WAITING
Call waiting lets you use your telephone while not missing another call. If someone calls you when your telephone is in use, a short tone tells you that there is another call. The caller hears a normal ringing tone. You can answer the call by pushing down the hook switch for one second. The first call is put on hold and you are connected with the second caller.

A brief tone alerts you when another call is waiting to be answered . A reminder tone will sound 10 seconds later. To answer the waiting call:
1. You may end the first call and hang-up. Your phone will ring. Answer it and you will be connected to the second call.
2. If you with to answer the waiting call and hold an existing call, push down the hook switch for one second and release it immediately.
3. You may switch back and forth between your two calls by depressing the hook switch again.
NOTE: Alternate between the two calls as often as necessary by depressing the hook switch and releasing it immediately each time. You cannot talk with both caller at the same time.

CALL FORWARDING
If you are going to be a another location (telephone, pager, cell phone, etc.) or you wish your calls to be answered by another person, you will want Call Forwarding. All your incoming calls will be forwarded automatically. You may still use your telephone for outgoing calls.

Call forwarding continues until you cancel it. You can make outgoing calls while call forwarding is in effect. One short ring will be heard as a reminder at your telephone when a call is being forwarded. Call Forwarding to a long distance number will cause long distance charges to be applied to your telephone line.
To activate Call Forwarding:
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Dial *72, listen for dial-tone again.
3. Dial the telephone number to which you want your call to be forwarded to.
4. Listen for two (2) bursts of tone.
5. Hang up your handset.

To cancel Call Forwarding:
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Dial *73.
3. Listen for two (2) bursts of tone.
4. Hang up your handset.


SELECTIVE CALL FORWARD
If you are expecting an incoming call from a specific telephone number that you just don't want to miss, you can have it forwarded to your location (telephone, pager, cell phone, etc.)
1. Lift handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Dial *63 and follow the voice instructions.
3. Only the numbers you choose will be forwarded to your location.

NOTE: All other calls can be handled by your choice of no answer, voice-mail, or forward to another number.

AUTOMATIC RECALL
To recall the last person who called you.
1. Lift handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Press *69.
3. The last incoming number will be recited and you can choose to return the call.


SELECTIVE CALL ACCEPTANCE
If you want to only receive calls from certain incoming numbers.
To recall the last person who called you.
1. Lift handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Dial *64 and follow the voice instructions.
3. Incoming callers not on your list will hear a recording.


SELECTIVE CALL REJECTION
To screen your calls by having certain numbers rejected:
1. Lift handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Dial *80 and follow the voice instructions.
3. Incoming callers that are on your rejection list will hear a recording.


ANONYMOUS CALL REJECTION
This feature allows you to reject calls from parties who have call number deliver blocking (Caller ID Blocking). When anonymous call rejection is active calls from a blocked number are routed to a denial announcement. In order for them to complete the call, the calling party is instructed to hang-up, unblock their number by dialing *82 and attempt the call again.

8 or 30 NUMBER SPEED CALLING
Telephone numbers (including access codes and area codes) can be dialed automatically with a one or two digit code. By using your telephone dial, you can enter a list of 8 or 30 telephone numbers. You may add or change this list as often as you desire.
To program speed calling numbers you must subscribe to this service then:
1. List handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. In the case of 8 Number Speed Calling dial *74.
3. In the case of 30 Number Speed Calling dial *75.
4. Dial the one or two digit access code you would like to use, (8 Number Speed Calling use access codes 2 through 9 or 30 Number Speed Calling use access codes 20 through 49).
5. Dial the number you wish to call (for long distance dial 1 + area code + telephone number).
6. Press the # button.
7. You will hear a tone to indicate the number has been programmed in.

To Use Speed Dialing:
1. Lift handset and listen for dial-tone.
2. Dial you programmed access code, (2-9 or 20-49).
3. Push the # button.
4. Your call will be placed.


THREE PERSON CONFERENCE CALL
You can talk to two other people at the same time with this service. This allows your telephone to act like a two-line phone. Save time and misunderstandings.
To add a third person to your conversation:
1. While you are speaking with the first person on the telephone depress the hook switch firmly for one second. Release immediately, this will put the first call on hold while you establish the second call.
2. Listen for three brief tones and then a dial-tone.
3. Dial the telephone number of the second person that you would like to add to the conversation.
4. After the second person answers you will need to "rejoin" the original caller.
5. Depress the hook switch firmly and release immediately. This joins all three telephones together.
NOTE: If the second line is busy or no answer, cancel. By depressing the hook switch twice (one second each). Continue the original conversation.

To remove either person from the connection:
1. The first person on the connection simply hangs up.
2. The third person is removed by depressing the book switch and releasing immediately after the third person hangs up.
3. All three connections are automatically disconnected when you hang up.


TOLL CONTROL WITH PIN
Toll Control with PIN (Personal Identification Number) provides the ability to completely inhibit the dialing party from making a toll call until they enter the correct PIN. Local calls and 911 calls can still be made without the use of the PIN.
To use it:
1. Press *13 and listen for four beeps or dial-tone.
2. Enter PIN and listen for four beeps or dial-tone.
3. Dial the toll call.
